OPT Distribution Project
ACFA prepared and arranged distribution of children's publications to children's libraries and centers in Gaza Strip,
accomplished with the cooperation of Tamir Institution office in Gaza. These publications served the marginal and
severely affected areas of the Occupation, such as Raffa,
Mighrka, Johr al-Deek and al-Mouasi, among others. Each center received the following books: Palestinian Encyclopedia for Children, Kaus Kosah Encyclopedia, kindergarten books for 5-year olds, kindergarten books for 4-year olds, Al-Hayat Lilitfal magazine, Al-Hayat Lilsafeer magazine, mental games books, poetry books, puzzles books, books on famous writers, a story series and song cassettes.

ACFA hopes that this new addition of educational material will
brighten an otherwise bleak situation in this time of religious celebration. These publications will be distributed to
the centers despite all the difficulties incurred by the siege, the checkpoints and the closures. ACFA has prepared 50
parcels of material at an added cost evaluated at US $10,000.
ACFA benefited 32 different children's centers with books and other printed materials according to our plans. ACFA
benefited additional 25 children's centers with printed materials as a reply to the essential needs during the
crisis period. The successful distribution of books, children's festival, mothers' workshop and workshop for children's organizations were all met with great enthusiasm and vigor.

Overall, this event directly benefited more than 1800 children, mothers and organizational representatives.
They have furthered the opportunities and capacities of thousands of children in the Gaza Strip through the
increased number of available books and capable people working with children.
The books provided to the Gazan children's organizations represent the breath of children's literature, including
story books, books of poetry, and materials on the arts, handicrafts, sciences and mental games.
The number of youths who are now visiting libraries is increasing, as well as the love of learning.
ACFA benefitted greatly from the assistance of The Association of Culture and Free-Thought in Khan Younis, the Palestinian Children's Center in Hebron,
Carritas Institute in Jerusalem, Tamir Institute in Ramallah, the Union of Palestinian NGOs and Al-Aydi Assaryia in Nablus. ACFA received financial support
from NPA Institution, the Wellfare Association and Secourse Catholique.
